ICF (insulated
concrete form) homes are
ideally suited
for
Wyoming's climate extremes. With insulating values above R-40, they
help keep you toasty and draft-free warm in the winter and cool in the
summer. And living in one, I can verify that the walls don't shake
during our "gentle" winter gales!
But they do
have some
unique design
issues,
especially if you're building the walls yourself and want to minimize
block waste.
If you'd
like to discuss design considerations, bracing, or other concerns or would
like to see what your house will look like before you build, contact us.
We'll be glad to visit your site and
work with you
to answer any questions you might have.
Renaissance
Services has a ReechCraft
Panel Jack
scaffolding
system
available for rent. This is the ultimate bracing system for ICF
construction. I had this system bracing a 17' wall in northern
Converse County when the tornado hit Wright and it performed
spectacularly!
